Two riders pause in canyon country, one of the quieter Western scenes from the long-term ranch photography project.

Summer 2026 Art Festivals and Exhibitions

Western Art Festivals - Summer 2026

Most photographs spend their lives on screens.

They are viewed quickly, often while waiting in line at the store or sitting at a traffic light, then replaced by the next image without much thought at all. Prints are different. They ask people to slow down.

This summer I'll be exhibiting a selection of photographs from Calves to the Fire, my long-term project documenting working ranches and cowboy culture across the American West. The photographs have been made over the last 6 years while spending time on historic ranches in Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Montana, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, and beyond.

If you're attending any of these events, I hope you'll stop by and spend some time with the work.

Dust hangs around the horses as two cowboys work through the herd, a direct scene from the working West.

Cherry Creek Arts Festival

The summer begins with the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver, one of the country's premier outdoor art events.

I'll be exhibiting large statement pieces along with smaller framed photographs from Calves to the Fire. These authentic photogaphs were made while documenting cowboys and working ranch families whose traditions have been passed down through generations.

Art on the Rockies

Art on the Rockies provides a mountain setting that feels right at home with photographs rooted in the landscapes and traditions of the American West.

The work on display reflects years spent following the rhythms of ranch life, from gathering cattle and catching horses to the quieter moments that often say just as much about the people and places behind the work.

An old wooden corral sits below the Grand Teton Mountains, showing the Western landscapes that shape much of the work.

Jackson Hole Art Fair

Few places are more closely connected to the spirit of the American West, and I'm looking forward to bringing these photographs to Wyoming. Many of the prints on display represent years of returning to the same ranches and developing relationships with the families and cowboys who have trusted me with their stories.

Golden Fine Arts Festival

The final stop of the summer will be the Golden Fine Arts Festival, which has long attracted collectors and visitors from throughout Colorado's Front Range.

This exhibition will feature a collection of limited edition cowboy prints ranging from large statement pieces to smaller framed photographs. Whether someone is looking for a photograph for their home or simply enjoys stories from the American West, one of the best parts of exhibiting is the conversations that happen around the work.

Riders spread across open range beneath a wide sky, a scene rooted in the ranch culture behind the collection.

Why I Still Believe in Prints

A photograph changes when it becomes a print.

Details emerge. Scale matters. The textures and tones become easier to appreciate. More importantly, the stories behind the photographs become easier to understand.

After fifteen years of working on this project, one of the most rewarding parts has been seeing people connect with the images in person. Exhibiting at art festivals remains one of the few opportunities to share that experience face to face.

I hope to see you somewhere along the way this summer.

Details of worn leather, cowboy books, spurs, and cattle in the distance show the kind of working ranch scenes at the center of Calves to the Fire.

Collecting Cowboy Photography Prints

Limited edition prints from Calves to the Fire are available throughout the year. The collection includes photographs of branding crews, buckaroos, ranch landscapes, and the traditions that continue to shape the American West.
