Authentic Cowboy Print from the American West

The Diamond A Ranch outside Seligman, Arizona is the largest cattle ranch in the Southwest. I’m grateful to have visited there more than a few times, but also to call a few of the cowboys friends. Aside from covering 750,000 acres, the thing that makes the Diamond A truly unique is having Cataract Canyon as it’s northern boundary - an offshoot to one of Planet Earth’s greatest wonders; The Grand Canyon. Iconic on it’s own, but also a great symbol of the American West. Scenes like this are humbling to say the least. They make you stop and think. On that particular day, taking in such a jaw dropping sunrise, I was struck with gratitude just to be there, and wondered how many humans will ever step foot on that piece of the planet? Diamond A cowboys have the distinct luxury to take in this view whenever they please. This photograph was also selected for display for filming on the set of Dutton Ranch.

About the Collection

For more than six years, photographer Rob Hammer has traveled throughout the American West documenting the lives and traditions of working cowboys on some of the country's most historic ranches. His ongoing project, Calves to the Fire, is an intimate look at a culture that remains largely unseen by the outside world. The photographs are made during actual day to day ranch work instead of staged reproductions.

Work from the collection has been exhibited in fine art galleries and museums, featured on the set of the hit television shows Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch, licensed by iconic Western brands such as Wrangler and American Hat Co., and published in Western Horseman and Cowboys & Indians Magazine.
