Hoop Dreams is one of those rare moments I had imagined for years: a hoop reflected in still water, under dramatic skies. But San Diego doesn’t get many rainy days, so when one finally came, I knew exactly what I was looking for. The result is this photograph: a quiet, almost surreal image that speaks to memory, possibility, and the quieter side of the game.
