For over 15 years I’ve been photographing basketball hoops across America - weathered backboards in empty lots, handmade rims in alleyways, and lonely hoops standing tall in quiet fields. These aren’t just relics of the game; they’re symbols of resilience, creativity, and the love of basketball that lives far beyond the bright lights and sneaker deals of the worlds most famous arenas.

From our countries biggest cities to towns so small they don’t even show up on a map, these photographs celebrate the game’s place in everyday American life.

Homemade Basketball Hoop Photography Print

A homemade basketball hoop stands beside an old barn beneath dramatic skies. Built from weathered boards and a plastic bucket, it’s the kind of court that gets to the heart of American Backcourts. Basketball doesn’t need a polished gym or a perfect court. Sometimes all it takes is a backboard, a rim, and someone who wants to play.

Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints are hand signed/numbered on museum quality archival fine art Hahnemuhle Baryta paper. In my opinion there is no better medium to print and display fine art photographs on. Its surface is smooth with a subtle texture, and a slightly warm base that produces very pleasing B&W prints reminiscent of platinum prints and meets the highest industry standards regarding density, color gamut, color graduation, and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.
