While photographing basketball hoops for 10+ years as an ongoing project, it’s always been important to keep raising the bar. To keep seeking out those unique hoops in the strangest of places or just finding that unique angle. Search the internet and you’ll find a million photographs of basketball hoops, most without any special qualities whatsoever. This idea for a hoop reflected in a puddle was in my head for a long time, but the elements never seemed to come together. Until one of those rare days in San Diego when it actually rained, leaving this court filled with water and the sky filled with beautiful clouds.
